Come celebrate 50 years of Dorysa with good drinks, plenty of laughter and hopefully just enough questionable decisions to make the stories interesting.
The venue is 21+ and will include an open bar and heavy appetizers.
Velveteen Rabbit is less than 10 minutes from downtown Fremont Street and about 20 minutes from the south end of the Strip near MGM.
There is street parking near the venue, but rideshare is highly recommended, since the drinks will be flowing and parking is never anyone's favorite part of a Vegas night.
Places to Stay
There are currently no room blocks at any specific hotels, so you're free to stay wherever works best for you.
One important Vegas tip: hotel prices can fluctuate A LOT depending on concerts, shows, sporting events, conventions, or whatever else Vegas has decided to throw at the weekend. If you know you're coming, booking early is highly recommended.
Staying Downtown
A few options to check out:

Modern, lively, and right in the middle of Fremont Street. -
Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino
A little quieter than Fremont Street but still just steps from the action. -
Golden Nugget
Classic Vegas with a little more old-school glamour. -
Plaza Hotel & Casino
At the end of Fremont Street and generally worth checking for deals.
Staying on the Strip

More upscale option in a convenient central location. -
The Cosmopolitan
Great location if you want to be in the middle of everything with a trendy, lively crowd. -
MGM Grand
Huge, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and things to do without leaving the property. -
New York-New York
Fun, central, and lots of dining and entertainment. -
Park MGM
Central Strip location, non-smoking and a little more relaxed.
Things to Wear
There is no official theme, come dressed for a fun night in Vegas! But if you want to dress to the theme, think modern speakeasy... trendy, chic, swanky.
And if dressing up isn't your thing? No worries. Just look fabulous and come celebrate.
A Little Vegas Weather PSA
The party is indoors, but there is an outdoor patio, and food may be served both inside and outside. Vegas evenings can cool down once the sun disappears, so bring a light jacket or sweater just in case.
And because Mother Nature does not care about our party plans, check the Vegas forecast before you pack!
Weekend Plans
There are no other formal birthday plans for the rest of the weekend, which means the rest of Vegas is yours to enjoy!
Come early, stay late, see a show, hit the pool, gamble, eat everything, explore downtown, hang out on the Strip — whatever sounds fun to you.
And because we know you'll ask...
Dorysa will be arriving Wed and departing Monday and the birthday girl's hotel location is top secret...shh...
So if you want to make a longer Vegas weekend out of it, there will definitely be birthday girl time available.
RSVP
Please RSVP as soon as you know whether you can attend so we can get an accurate headcount for food and the venue.
One important note: The venue has capacity limitations, so please do not forward this invitation or add additional guests unless they are included in your RSVP.
Basically: if you're invited, we want you there. If you're not sure, ask us. If you're thinking about bringing your entire Vegas crew... please don't.

No Gifts, Please!
Dorysa has one request: no gifts, please! Her suitcase will already be full, and we're pretty sure United isn't accepting “but it's my birthday” as a reason for free extra luggage.
Just bring yourself, your party spirit, and help us celebrate the birthday girl!
